PAPER PLANES WOW DAY IN PJ’S
Friday 17/7/15 we had a Year 4 Wow Day and the whole school had their pjs on, so it was more fun. First we watched Paper Planes and then after snack play we made paper planes and had a competition in twos on who could fly their planes the longest. Then the longest flying planes went into another competition against other Year 4’s and three people got a prize.

This week we are continuing to focus on our understanding of area and perimeter. This website is a fantastic way to practise measuring accurately using a ruler and using this information to calculate the area and perimeter of regular shapes.
INTRO: Dirt bikes a type of bike that are running by a motor. Dirt bikes are fun to ride and play games.
P.1: Dirt bikes were made way back in the 2000s and now days they are really good these days. They are really good these days because back in the 2000s there were 500s and now there are 650s.
P.2: Dirt bikes are made to race on jump tracks and flat tracks. They also have suspension to soak up all the bumps.
P.3: Some dirt bike brands are KTM, KX, HONDA, COBRA,YAMAHA and Suzuki. The most popular bike is the ktm 450.
P.4: Safety gear is what you need to wear on the bike when you are riding these are the things you need to wear, helmet, boots, neck brace, body armour, goggles and gloves.
Waves are made from the weather’s rain and thunder. They crash and push up against the rocks and make big waves called ripples. Lots of people make waves when they are in pools and jump up and down. The water bounces to make waves.
Waves are made so people can have fun and go surfing and even just to look at them splash everywhere they go. You can make waves where there’s water and there’s people. Waves are made in lakes, rivers, ponds and beaches.
The Ethiopian highlands were made by a volcano that erupted,the lava made dome that was a about 620 miles and it is now called the Roof of Africa.There are rare animals such as the Ethiopian wolf or the Gelada baboon.
The Ethiopian wolf lives in pairs and in the pack gathers for a noisy greeting ceremony. These wolves hunt small animals, those snouts are perfect for sniffing up rats and borrows of a rodent.
The Gelada baboons are really good climbers they have strong hands and feet and the strongest fingers of any primate in the world! They live in groups of up to 800 baboons and they feed on grass.They sleep on rocky cliffs so predators can’t reach.
These extraordinary creature’s only live in Ethiopia so if you want to see these amazing creature’s you have to fly to Ethiopia.
